How to Make the ‘Transmutation of Patterns’ like a Pictish Artist

October 24 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Try your hand at designing your own Pictish-style transmutation!
Guided by Dr Cynthia Thickpenny and stone carver David McGovern, you’ll learn step-by-step how early medieval artists transformed geometric designs into continuous patterns — just as the Picts did on stone and parchment.
You don’t need any prior experience. All materials provided (paper, pencils, templates).
Part of Cynthia Thickpenny’s Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship, funded by the Leverhulme Trust.

Paper, templates, pencils, and other necessary materials will be provided.
