Gilbert Markus is Research Associate, Affiliate – (Celtic and Gaelic) at the University of Glasgow and author, inter alia, of “Conceiving a Nation – Scotland to AD900”. He will draw on his recent studies of Iona to comment on comparisons which might be made with what can be understood about Rosemarkie in the Early Medieval Period.
