Role Title: Trustee – Development and Marketing
Commitment: Part-time, voluntary (min. 6 in-person board meetings annually, with potential for additional sub-committee work)
Location: Remote with occasional on-site meetings in Rosemarkie, Highland, Scotland
Groam House Museum is a vibrant, volunteer-led museum located in the picturesque village of Rosemarkie on Scotland’s Black Isle. We are dedicated to preserving and celebrating the Pictish and Celtic heritage of Easter Ross. Featuring treasures like the iconic Rosemarkie Cross-slab and the George Bain Collection, the museum serves as a hub connecting local communities and visitors to Scotland’s artistic and cultural history.
We are seeking a dedicated Development and Marketing Trustee to strengthen the museum’s sustainability by driving financial growth, expanding our audience, and enhancing our visibility. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills to the preservation of Scotland’s cultural heritage while engaging with a passionate team of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Sponsorships: Lead the development of sponsorship programs, partnerships, and campaigns to secure funding for museum initiatives.
Marketing and Communications: Boost the museum’s profile through digital strategies, social media, and community outreach to attract diverse and younger audiences.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the board to shape the museum’s long-term sustainability, focusing on financial resilience and brand development.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with expertise in:
Sponsorship, fundraising, or partnership development, especially within the cultural or heritage sectors.
Marketing and communications, with skills in digital strategy, social media, or audience engagement.
Strategic planning or financial management.
As a volunteer trustee, this is an unpaid role; however, we do offer reimbursement for reasonable expenses.
