Could you use your financial skills to support a nationally significant museum at an exciting point in its development?

We’re seeking a Volunteer Museum Treasurer to assist with the day-to-day financial administration of Groam House Museum, working closely with the Museum Manager and the Charity Treasurer (Trustee).

This is a well-defined, supported role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers and keeping things organised, but does not want sole responsibility or pressure. You’ll be part of a small, friendly team.

Depending on your interests and availability, tasks may include:

  • Recording income and expenditure
  • Processing invoices and payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Supporting payroll and pension administration
  • Preparing simple monthly financial reports
  • Helping keep financial systems organised and up to date

You will not be working alone:

  • Clear procedures and handover will be provided
  • You will be supported by the Museum Manager and a Trustee Treasurer

Time commitment & flexibility

  • Flexible hours to suit you
  • Can be done primarily from home
  • Ideal for someone retired, semi-retired, studying, or balancing other commitments
  • We are open to a phased or shared role
