We are entering an important and exciting period of development. We are preparing for a feasibility study that will explore future development options, accessibility improvements, and long-term sustainability.

We’re now looking to recruit 2–3 new trustees to strengthen the board and help shape the museum’s next chapter.

Who we’re keen to hear from

We’re particularly interested in people with experience or a strong interest in one or more of the following areas:

  • Museum or heritage development
  • Strategic planning or organisational change
  • Capital projects, feasibility studies, or redevelopment
  • Audiences, digital engagement, or marketing
  • Fundraising, philanthropy, or income diversification
  • Creative practice, design, or interpretation
  • Tourism, visitor experience, or place-based development

Trustees are non-executive volunteers who contribute at a strategic level, supporting and working with the Museum Manager and acting as ambassadors for the museum.

Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential. We are keen to hear from people who bring ideas, curiosity, and fresh perspectives.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment:

Approximately 8 board meetings per year, with some additional involvement during key development phases.

Usually daytime meetings, but we are able to be flexible; some meetings are held online.
