Selkies, Saints and Sonsie Lassies: Watery Tales from the Scottish Highlands.
Part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival
5pm, Sunday, 15 November, 2020
This online event is free but you must register

Wolves, wizards, revenants, selkies and mermaids; malevolent fairies, lovesick harpers and demonic cats are among the characters who people these stories.

Join us from the comfort of your own home as Bob Pegg, Strathpeffer storyteller and musician, tells traditional tales that were once heard round winter firesides in the Highlands.

Storytelling has taken Bob to the far corners of the Scottish mainland and islands, to Iceland and Scandinavia. His tales are interwoven with music from instruments which include the ocarina, bone flute and trumpet.

All Bob’s stories in the session are taken from his book,
Highland Folk Tales, published by The History Press, and available to buy from bookshops and online.

Here’s a short video of Bob telling the tale of The Seal Killer one of the stories from Highland Folk Tales.
