Part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival
Recording of a live broadcast Sunday, 15 November, 2020
Wolves, wizards, revenants, selkies and mermaids; malevolent fairies, lovesick harpers and demonic cats are among the characters who people these stories.
Bob Pegg, Strathpeffer storyteller and musician, tells traditional tales that were once heard round winter firesides in the Highlands.
If you missed Bob Pegg’s storytelling session on Zoom fear not, it is available to view online. Turn down your light, curl up in a comfy chair and enjoy the Highland Folk Tales interwoven by traditional music by Bob himself
Storytelling has taken Bob to the far corners of the Scottish mainland and islands, to Iceland and Scandinavia. His tales are interwoven with music from instruments which include the ocarina, bone flute and trumpet.
All Bob’s stories in the session are taken from his book,
Highland Folk Tales, published by The History Press, and available to buy from bookshops and online.
